How can the growth of indigenous textile and art usage in Filipino fashion help to counter the erosion of the nation’s indigenous culture?

One of the most glaring issues pointed out to me when testing the effectiveness of this question is that not enough context is provided as to what the “erosion of indigenous culture” looks like or means. FOr the most part, the individuals I consulted with understood that this was an issue of cultural erasure, but they wished they had context as to what lead to this problem. With further discussion of how westernization and colonization in the Philippines provided for the consequence of erasing indigenous culture and influence in the country, I was told that including the context of westernization in the question allows for them to better understand the justification for the problem area. With this feedback in mind, the following question was constructed to address these issues.

How can the growth of indigenous textile and art usage in Filipino fashion help to counter the erosion of the nation’s indigenous culture as a result of the country’s westernization?
